New Years!!!
Monday: We had a barbecue with all of the Elders quorum and we had some Hot Dogs and let me tell yah that Sweden does it right when it comes to Korv. We also had some cooked peppers and those were really good as well! We then tried to contact all of the people in our area book that would disappear after the 31st because of some laws here in Europe saying that we have to give people a notice that we have there number. But we were able to at least send all of the people that we had a text and if they are interested they will now be able to text us back.
Tuesday: New Years Eve! We started off with some good old book of mormon study and that was great! able to get some great readying in! We had a lesson with one of the people that we are teaching but then he didn't show up and that was sad! We then had a nice dinner with a member here and we had some very good Swedish food that was amazing! We had some great orange flavored sauce that was to die for! Then we went to the branch president and his family and celebrated the New Years with them! That was fun and we saw some fire works! I got some glasses that I thought would be funny!
Wednesday: The start of my full year here in the grand land of Sverige! We had our interviews with President and that was so good! He is a very awesome human being and I have learned so much from him every time that we meet! We then made some cookies to take to some of our friends and members close by. Also started off the year strong by fixing a tire for Äldste Jackson and then biking somewhere and having the other tire flat, YaH wHaT fUn! This was our last day that we were given 2 extra hours to read the Book of Mormon and this has been one of the coolest things that I have done! I have learned so much on the timing and the history that the Book of Mormon contains, it is so cool and I know that it is 100% true!
Thursday: We had some in person district council and that was great! Love meeting with Äldsterna from Eskilstuna. We talked about New Years goals and what we are going to do this year here in Sweden! One of my goals is to follow along with Come Follow Me in Swedish because I think it will be a big help in me learning the language as fast as possible! We then came back and delivered the rest of the cookies and then we were able to go out and knock for the first time this year and let me tell yah, it was good to be back!
Friday: We had an amazing weekly planning and we were able to set up a lot of lessons for the upcoming week! It is always good to set some good goals for the week and then see how you will be able to achieve them because that is what goals are for eller hur? I love the satisfaction of setting goals and accomplishing them! Cross Country really helped me find the joy in doing that (thanks Sam!).
Saturday: We had a lesson with one of our friends and that went really well! We taught the Plan of Salvation and I love testifying of families and how they can be together forever! I really have a big testimony of that and I can't wait to see my Grandpa again! After that we had a lot of time to go out and find and that was really good. We went to a place that looked really good and there were some people that said we could come back so we are excited for that!
Sunday: Fast Sunday and wow this one was good! I loved taking the sacrament this week and really felt the spirit because of the reason I was fasting. We have a friend that is trying to stop smoking and just went into rehab/prison and can't really have much contact with us while they are working with him. I hope that he will be able to get everything done that he needs to get done fast so we can continue teaching him soon!
Love you all,
Äldste Paxton
