Shortest Day of the Year!

That is right!  We have passed the shortest day of the year and now the days will start to get longer and longer!

Monday: Today we taught someone that is very energetic and is always fun to meet him but very hard to teach him because he doesn't let us teach him so much. We then had a great FHE with a member and had some very good ricegröt with cinnamon and syrup. Great thing here in Sweden. We also ran to some really cool houses on stilts that are close by our apartment!

Tuesday: We had a lot of time to find and invite people to participate in light the world and it was so fun! I love being the light in others' lives and seeing the light in them turn on when they are actually going to participate! In my personal study today I read how we should never be ashamed to have taken upon us the name of Christ (Mormon 8) and I like that especially for this time of the year when we are trying to be the light in others' lives and the best way to light someone's world is to take upon us the name of Christ and try to be like Him the best we can!

Wednesday: We had 3 lessons and they all went really good! We showed them all the Christ Child video and it was so good! I don't think I could watch that 1000 times and get old of it😂 One of the people that we taught kinda went off on us about how some of the traditions we do during Christmas are lies and that we should stop teaching them. He made us promise him that we would not teach the next generation these traditions but I don't think I am going to listen because I had an amazing childhood with them!

Thursday: Had our first District council of the transfer and it was nice to have the same district! This is the first transfer that I have kept the same district. We then went to a little town on the outskirts of our area called Högsjö (no english spelling but know that you can't sound it out in English, so use some good old google translate if you want to know how it is pronounced!) to teach a member and that went really well! We also showed them the Christ Child and it was probably one of the best lessons we have had while showing it! They were so interested in how the wise men were at the end and the expression of the ones when he gives the gifts to little toddler Jesus.

Friday: Had some subway for the first time here in Sweden with someone that we are teaching right now and lets just say that it is the same thing here as in the good old US. For our transfer goals we have a goal to only speak Swedish on Thursdays and I am really excited! This is really going to help me grow in the language.

Saturday: Today we did a stan finding activity and that was really cool! We had some Pepparkakor and a table with some members and handed them out for FREEEEEEEEEE! Yes you heard me, FREE! We invited all the people that we handed them out to and we had some really good discussions with some of the people that came up and talked with us. It started out kinda slow though because the Jahovas Witnesses were out in the spot that we were going to use and that was kinda depressing but first come first serve, I guess. But me and Äldste Jackson were able to pick it up and hand out lots of cookie.

Sunday: We had the Christmas program today and that went really well. It was cool to sing all of the songs that we usually sing in English and try them in Swedish! After that we had our Jul Fest with the branch and that was really fun! We had lots of traditional Swedish food and lets just say I am in love with the food here! One of the things I think goes through the peoples heads are "When in doubt, throw some senap(mustard) on it!" It was interesting at first but it is really growing on me(Yes I know I like a sauce that goes on stuff😂).

Love you and miss you all so much!

1. Houses on stilts
2. weird goat things made out of pine.  They were the things that brought presents to the kids if they were good before Santa took over! Also it is believed that Thor's wagon was pulled by 2 goats so I think this is one of them!
3. The sun the one time it came out
4. Our stan finding activity!
