In Person DC

Monday: Today we had a meal and family home evening with one of the members here and it was really good. We had some rice with some sort of mixture of meat and sauce. We also visit the outlets they have here in Katrineholm and they were super nice. They have lots of stuff for good prices and then they also have a Fika outlet that has all of the stuff you but to go and Fika with.

Tuesday: To start of the day we had breakfast with a guy that we are teaching and we committed him to be baptized on the 7th of December! So hopefully that goes to plan. The breakfast was really good too, it was a breakfast sandwich thing. Then in the afternoon we taught another lady that is super sweet and gave us some very good grapes that we ate while talking with her. After that we taught one of the members here so that I can practise my Swedish. It was super fun and a real confidence buster for me because I was able to teach most of the lesson and only have to ask for a couple of words that I am still trying to learn!

Wednesday: We went over to the family that we are the ministering brothers for, because the branch is so small, and I was able to practice a different lesson with her and I was able to give a lot of this one too and it is so nice to know that I can give good lessons and have people understand me in a language that I am still trying to figure out how to Speak! We then taught a man that works a coffee shop and he gave us some free hot chocolate which was nice but then every time we tried to bring up the gospel he would change the subject really quick and just wouldn't let us talk to him about it which was sad to see but other then that the hot chocolate was great.

Thursday: Today we had in person District Council and that was super fun to see the other Elders in our district. We had a lot of fun and I had baked some Kladkaka for us the night before! Kladkaka is like a Swedish mixture of brownies and cake and it is very good, especially with vanilla sauce! We then taught someone that we are trying to get on baptismal date but just won't really commit to anything which is sad to see but he loves the gospel so that is a start. We then went out finding, because that is what you do a lot here in Katrineholm. Every time we are not teaching a lesson we are out trying to find people to teach and it has been good practice for my Swedish as well, to try and hold a conversation with people!

Friday: We had 3 lessons planned and 2 of them fell through which is sad😥 but the one lesson we did have was with a man that is on date to be baptized on the 30th of November. He is doing really well and is progressing and keeping commitments like a CHAMP! He is so close to being baptized and I can't wait to see him grow even more then he has already in my week and a half here! but with data privacy laws that is about all I can say about the situation so yah🤷🏿‍♂️

Saturday: Today was lot of finding and it was really weird because no one was really home and the people that were home were just mean and very rude to us, which is not usual here. Usually when someone says they are not interested they just say "Ah men jag är inte intresserad, tyvärr" (yah but I am not interested, unfortunately) but today we had some people that were like "I will have nothing to do with your church" "Don't bother me just stop trying" "Open your mind and see reality" "Oh, you talk about Jesus, ha(then shuts the door with some force)" but what can you do except just go to the next door with a smile and love the people that you come in contact with!

Sunday: We had sacrament as usual and it was great. I understood one of the talks, which is wonderful, and he talked about how we are who we are and sometimes you might wish that you were someone else but to just be you. I loved that message because I love being myself😂 Also another cool thing is this random guy that no one knows who he is just shows up to sacrament meeting and it was cool. We got his address but he doesn't have a phone/phone number and not social media profile to reach him, which is strange but he said to come over whenever because we are always welcome! After that we got access to the new video that the church has released for Christmas and I watched it again today. Wow, no matter how many times I see this thing it gets better and better! I can't wait till the 24th when it is released to the public! We then ended the day with some finding and we talked with some nice people but none of them were really that interested to what we had to say about the gospel but at least they had a good experience with missionaries and when they meet us again they will be like "Oh, I remember talking with two of these people before and they were really nice!" All about planting seeds like in Alma 32!

Love you and miss you all!
